About a year ago I got a Facebook message from my friend Victoria. She had seen one of only two videos that I had produced at the time. I was excited to meet with her. She was the FIRST person to contact me and ask me to shoot her wedding. It was the first time I started thinking seriously about this wedding film thing I had been goofing around with. It was also the first time that the entire Character D Films crew was involved- Video, Photo and Floral!
She sat me down and told me that she had met an amazing guy and that they were newly engaged. She had that look in her eyes- that look I see so often when I meet with newly engaged couples. It's a look of happiness, excitement and optimism. For those of you that don't know, I work full-time in the corporate scene. The healthcare corporate scene to be specific. Working with engaged couples is a welcome reprieve from the often heavy situations I see during the week. I love it when they have the look that Victoria had.
A little more than a year later, I had the honor of shooting her wedding. It was beautiful. It was the kind of wedding that could only be put together by someone that had lived in the downtown Milwaukee scene. The ceremony took place at the Villa Terrace. For anyone that doesn't know, the Villa Terrace is the most beautiful location in the city. It is filled with a kind of character that is not often seen in the midwest. As you walk through the Tuscan-style villa, you wonder about the couple that built it and the events they must have hosted back in the 1920's when it was built.
Their reception was held at the Milwaukee Public Market. This indoor market has become a staple of the downtown Milwaukee scene. While I was aware that this collection of food, wine, coffee and oil vendors is the perfect location for a saturday afternoon, I had no idea what an incredible wedding venue it could transition into. Victoria & Sean's taste shined through with their choice of flowers, colors, food and decorations.
The team at Character D thank Victoria & Sean for having us be such a big part of their day. We were so happy to help your event become what it was. You really know how to throw an event. Congratulations!
